Camp NaNoWriMo Results and Update

April was a hard month for me.  I wrote when I could and some days wrote a lot, other days I just couldn’t step up to do it.  I wonder if this is a challenge I can do.  Not, NaNoWriMo but writing altogether.  I wonder if this is a talent or a curse.

I sit here almost daily and pour my soul into characters that are a part of me.  I hurt them, help them grow, and give them love.  However, bringing them to life for you can be a challenge.  Do you see them the same way that I do?  Do you feel them?  Do you care for them?

I ask these questions of myself and to you for a reason.  I will be attempting to self-publish my manuscripts in the upcoming months.  It will take me time as I have to look for a new job, move into a new home, and take care of my family.

Just like my characters, life goes on.  I find that the chaos in my brain silences when I put it down.  Am I crazy?  Probably!  I kill people and destroy Porsches in my mind.

So this leads me to what this post is really about…I finally after pushing myself finished my challenge 57k words.  I ended the month with 57,432 words.  Is Secret’s Kiss finished?  No, but the challenge is.  This manuscript might end up being my biggest.  Raul and Dani have a story that is long and involved.  Thank you for your support.

All this being said where do I go from here.  Well…my first manuscript is being read by a family member that will be critical and help me decide if this is the option for me.  My second is getting ready for edits, my third needs to be finished along with my forth.  Finally, my fifth manuscript needs to be grown.

You see my mind is busy.  My fingers fly across the keyboard.  I continue to push my heart and soul into my words.  Please don’t give up on me.  I will get you something as soon as I can.

I am working on a cover for Sniper’s Kiss right now.  I am working on preparing it to go to a professional editor right after we get moved.  Life goes on, remember?

Camp NaNoWriMo

I am currently sitting at 36k words.  In the home stretch and I worry I am not going to make it.  So for inspiration, I am going to give you an unedited portion of what I am writing right this minute.

From Dani and Raul’s story…

“Congratulations Ms. Cavanaugh.”  I jump at the voice from the shadows.  I see a man with medium brown hair and brown eyes just taller then Raul step out.  His accent is American East Coast.  How he knows that name has me confused.

“I am sorry but you must have me confused with someone else, my name is Daniella Lopez.”

“It is now.  But it was Cavanaugh.”  He says smoothly.

“No, it was McGeraty.  Do I know you?”  I tilt my head trying to figure out where I know him from.  Something nibbles the back of my mind.  Something familiar…

Again, thank you for all your support.  Hope you like the sneak peak.

Camp NaNoWriMo

Only six days into the Camp and I am already at 21,225 words for the month.  To be honest, I started out with 6k already, but I had to go back and rework that and then add in my new stuff.  I am excited about this story, and it has helped me get over the block on the previous story I need to fix.  Also added another set of characters that will eventually have a book.  Love this and my craziness.  Thank you for all your support.
